Smell your way to victory with this fun and exciting game called P.U. The Guessing Game of Smells. Players take turns rolling the dice and moving their pieces on the board until they land on a game card spot. Guess the correct smell and you receive another turn, and another chance to land on a game card spot.
The cards include three different exciting categories:
1. Good - Example: Maple Syrup, Peppermint
2. Bad - Example: Skunk, Dog Poop
3. Mystery - Example: Bacon
My family enjoys frequent game nights on the weekends, so i'm always looking for fun games to add to our collection, and this is definitely one! I fondly remember playing a similar game when I was a young girl, which influenced me to purchase this game for my children. It is recommended for children ages 5-10, but it is honestly a fun game for the entire family to play, no matter how old you are. I have to admit, this is definitely one of my favorites, although it has a minor issue - some of the cards are easy recognizable and well scented while others smell more like cardboard.
While playing the game you will find that some of the cards contain questions instead of scents, which I like to refer to as "filler cards". I have to admit, I liked these cards much better than the "Bad" cards because smelling garbage isn't very pleasant, but my kids sure get a kick out of it. You sometimes land on spots that require you to "lose a turn", which helps teach my kids good sportsmanship. One thing that pleasantly surprised me was the large size of the gameboard, which provided plenty of space for all of us to sit around and roll the dice on. Overall, the games concept is exciting, as well as fun and I would definitely purchase an updated version in the future.
