Pastry Covered Lasagna Squares Recipe

It's that time again - Recipe Wednesday!

If you love lasagna but you want to put a twist on your boring old lasagna recipe, then the pastry covered lasagna square recipe is a must-make! The first time I saw this unique creation a foodie friend of mine had posted a photo on Facebook. It looks so interesting and tasty, so I decided to make my very own. If you want to impress your dinner guests, this recipe will definitely do the trick!

Pastry Covered Lasagna Squares

*First, make a lasagna dish(using your favorite recipe). Then, be sure to put it in the fridge over night, as this will make it easier to work with.*

Serves:8
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Cook Time: 20 Minutes

What you will need:
  • (9 by 13 inch) pan of your favorite lasagna
  • 1 jar Alfredo sauce
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 1 pkg puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 large egg, well beaten
  • 1 cup shredded parmesean cheese
1. Preheat oven according to the directions on the puff pastry packaging.

2. Cut the lasagna into 8 even squares.

3. Cut the puff pastry in 1/4 sheet servings, and roll out the pastry so it is about double the lasagna square.

4. Place the lasagna in the center of the puff pastry square. Then sprinkle with 2 teaspoons of Parmesan cheese and a bit of garlic powder. Carefully fold the pastry around the lasagna, and seal and pinch all overlapping pastry.

5. Be sure to cut 2-3 slits on top of each pastry to allow steam to escape. Brush square with beaten egg and then repeat on all lasagna squares.

6. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake according to the pastry package directions. When they are done the squares should be brown and they should be heated all the way through.

7. Plate each square on a plate of half Alfredo sauce and half marinara sauce.

ENJOY!
